Hospital Central
Hospital Central is a Spanish television series that follows the professional and personal lives of the staff of the fictitious Hospital Central in Madrid.The series started in 2000 and is still on the air today in its 17th season, with its success going stronger. It is often said to be a Spanish version of ER. One of main characters is Dr. Macarena “Maca” Wilson Fernandez. Originally a pediatrican, she is now the ER head of service. She married Esther (ER service nurse, later nurse manager), with whom she had a son through artificial insemination. She is a deeply committed to her work and patients, and to her family, and would go to great lengths to them. When Esther cheated on her with Raul, she had an affair with psychiatrist Veronica 'Vero' Sole. After the affair was over she eventually became a workaholic, in order to deal with her loneliness. During this period, she became overly stressed and was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She eventually realized that she was still in love with Esther, after watching her with her new girlfriend. She did everything what she could to win Ester back and eventually the two get back together.
